In The Bleak Mid-Winter by Christina G. Rossetti/Gustav Holst

(C)
In the (G)bleak mid(Asus4)win(Amin)ter, the (Dmin)frosty (Dmin/C)wind did (G)moan
(C)earth stood (G)hard as (Asus4)i(Amin)ron, (Dmin)water (G)like a (C)stone;
(F)snow had (Fmaj7)fallen (Dmin)soft(Amin)ly, (C)snow on snow, snow on (G)snow,
(C)in the (G)bleak mid(Asus4)win(Amin)ter, (Dmin)oh so (G)long a(C)go.

Our God, heaven can't hold him, nor the earth sustain;
heaven and earth shall flee away, when he comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
the Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

Angels and archangels, may have gathered there,
cherubim and seraphim, thronged the air;
but his mother only, in her maiden bliss,
worshiped the beloved with a kiss.

What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
if I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
yet what I can I give him, I will give my heart.
