How many eggs can a chicken lay?
That's very hard for me to say
It all depends how she feels that day
How many eggs she'll lay

What kind of things does a chicken eat?
Food it pecks up from around its feet
A little bit of maize and a little bit of wheat
That's what a chicken will eat

Now is it true that a chicken can fly?
Oh yes it can but not very high
Just about high enough to get by
Oh yes, a chicken can fly

Now why does a cockerel crow at dawn?
To tell us that the night has gone
To tell us that a new day has just been born
Oh that's why he crows at dawn
